The History of Breezes Resort, Bahamas
The history of Breezes Bahamas is something akin to the story of the ugly duckling. The resort used to be the old Ambassador Beach hotel in Nassau which was viewed as a “tired old relic.” In the early 1990’s, the hotel came under the management of the Wyndham Hotels and was renamed the Wyndham Ambassador Golf and Beach Resort. In 1996, the management of the hotel’s property was taken over by Super Clubs. The hotel underwent major renovations that cost around $125 million, transforming it into an all-inclusive resort. It was opened to the public in September of the same year, using its new name – Breezes Bahamas.
