Riu Palace Bahamas is a family-owned resort on Paradise Island and part of a chain of hotels called the RIU Hotels and Resorts. It started out in 2004 when the hotel chain purchased the Sheraton Grand and transformed it into an all-inclusive resort. It underwent another renovation in 2009 to give it a more modern design. Today, Riu Bahamas is considered to be one of the best beach hotels in the islands by travelers all over the world.

Riu Palace Bahamas is comprised of 379 Guestrooms within its 14 floors. Most of the guestrooms have a balcony that offers a lovely view of the ocean. All of the rooms are air conditioned with a bathroom, a telephone, a flat-screen TV, a radio alarm clock, a hair dryer, an iron, an ironing table, and fitted carpet. Riu Bahamas also provides an inroom mini bar that includes a liquor dispenser that guests can make use of with no additional charge! An electronic in-room safe is also available that can fit something as large as a 15” laptop. Room service is available 24 hours a day. There is currently no wifi offered in the rooms though there it may be made available by winter 2012.

The waterpark, aquarium, numerous restaurants, and Atlantis’ casino can be visited by the Riu Bahamas resort’s guests daily. Water sports such as kayaking and banana boats as well as snorkeling and diving can be availed of at the beach. A 10-minute cab ride from the resort will take guests to the different attractions in Nassau such as the straw market, the Pompey Museum, and Fort Charlotte.
